Reiki

This method of treatment for healing has been found documented in Religious tracts in Tibet dating back 2500 years ago, and still earlier in medical documents written in China 500 years or so prior to that time. This system of healing was 'revitalised' by a Japanese priest by the name of Mikao Usui in the 19th Century. Dr Usui devoted his life in teaching others to use the healing touch to spread the natural health-giving qualities to all humanity throughout the World.

The Practitioner is not the Healer in this field of treatment, but more of an instrument through which the power of Reiki is channelled into the Client. This is achieved by a 'hands-on' or 'over-the-body' technique which will re-energise the life force flow within the physical body through pathways of the meridians, chakras and nadis. The healing properties which pass from the hands into the body can be felt by degrees of heat and often vibrations and at the same time Clients can visualise vibrant colours whilst in the meditative state. The positive vibrations will enable the receiver to regain lost energy and thereby attain a level of natural self-healing.

On certain occasions Reiki can be combined with Reflexology to reinforce the treatment.

Sessions of Reiki are very relaxing and enjoyable and a 45 minute treatment can seem to be over too quickly for many Clients.
